Re: Macton works developments

Hi Peter Thanks for the compliment I can only change my pictures of course any that have been quoted by others might have to stay the way they are I will try one and see what happens. It turns out that I can only edit my own posts which actually makes sense. I have fixed all the pictures on the last...

Re: Macton II

So Winter is coming and I have been down a few rabbit holes (large scales, both indoors and out) But I still fine that I get drawn back to this scale and model work, Perhaps some Mojo will percolate back to the top, given that I don't really have anything but time on my hands these days. I have just ...

Re: The Cuddle Shale Oil Company Tramway.

Hi Ian I just read the blog post about the rusty corrugated iron, It reminded me of the old Mayang textures site which has been gone now for a while, but I set up an account with the Textures.com site you mentioned I printed up some rust iron and will run it through my Fiskars tool and report back. ...

Re: Macton II

spent some time today sorting out the turntable construction. first I cut a few circles out of some hard green card (old filing cabinet dividers) and some .020" styrene IMG_0660x1024.jpg next I glued the rails to the first layer of card and then added the first layer of styrene and glued it wit...

What a loss, Andy was such a great contributor to this forum, We had a great rapport over the issues of Bertrand at Macton and the goings on on cuddle, I smiled at Peter's comment about Sue going out and so he could make a mess in the kitchen. My deepest condolences to Sue and the Family. One of My ...

Re: Macton II

Hi Peter, your comment about the mystery beyond the entry to the "alley" is something that I also liked, somewhat similar to the overhead walkway on the original. As I am still playing with the massing the Ideal of depth is an important one, I believe I will be able to achieve this by crea...

The changes are continuing with some new ideas regarding the massing of the buildings to a more traditional factory type. brick 3 story macton IIx1024.jpg I still need to make some floor level adjustments, I am also going to connect all the structures along the back side of the layout this will give...

Re: Belle Lane - Santo's restaurant and Coffee house.

I have to agree with Bill thanks for the recovery Peter. This forum seems to be a lot easier to replace ones own pictures in ones own threads than some others. so I appreciate all the work that you and Chris have been doing to fix these older threads of other builders that are full of gems.

Peter, glad you like the tool. I soldered up most of the track sections ready for the installment once the ends are squared up. ver 6 macton II overallx1024.jpg I think that the turntables will work out fine, I am going to see how easy it will be to operate them from below without using motors. ver ...

Re: Macton II

Hi Peter, thanks. The device is a custom third hand that I designed to hold just about anything instead of the cheap alligator clip type that are sold in hobby shops. I did come up with a production model that sells for $175 Canadian. The production model comes with a choice of a couple of toolmaker...

Re: Macton II

Back home now, Are you planning on connecting the 3 story building with a walkway to the other building? Marty The old walkway suffered a fair bit of damage but I did like the concept. Re: Macton II

Hi Bill, I have not been out to the modelshop yet this morning, I am going to take some pictures of the railing straight on and also the wall with the columns, the existing columns might be too short so if I included some columns they would likely need to be taller. That said a slightly lower railin...
