Re: 403 FORBIDDEN error everywhere, can't read posts

maybe an email to everyone or a PM on another site? Or read Tom's announcement :) gn15.info and minimumgauge.info have transferred over nicely. forum.gn15.info hasn't co-operated (yet). The temporary workaround is to go to http://gn15.info/forum but, as I said, that should just be a temporary measu...

Re: If you have errors use Minimumgauge.info

Once the DNS is working as expected then links within the forum should start working again. The situation we currently have is that even though both URLs are set up identically, minimumgauge.info is behaving nicely and is pointing at Tom's hosting while gn15.info is trying to point at both Tom's hos...

Site transfer imminent!

We'll be kicking off the transfer of the GnATTERbox to the new hosting this weekend (6th/7th December). So that no posts are lost in the process, I'll be switching off the current forum around 9pm GMT tomorrow evening (6th). You'll know when the transfer's gone through because the updated forum soft...

The main problem with shortened URLs like those provided by TinyURL is that they introduce an element of risk in that you don't know where a link is sending you without clicking on it. It would be more helpful if posters use the GnATTERbox syntax when adding URLs to...

Yes I know Gerry, that was my tongue in cheek Aussie humour. :) It wasn't hacked John it was overmoderated To be pedantic (as is my wont) it was a bit of both - some members' post counts, according to the website, are definitely screwy since The Incident. would it be possible to keep the site going...

Ok, ok, I agree that locking that post didn't make any sense. Well done to Nevadablue for spotting the easy workaround. In answer to a couple of the questions/points made above: I don't know what powers the photo hosting, it may even be something Emrys has made himself so that may be an issue. Unfor...

New management sought for Gn15.info

Ladies, Gentlemen and assorted Gnutters, You may recall a slightly ranty post I made back in 2011 about the future of this forum . Ah, those were the days. Nothing came of that (beyond a noticeable reduction in complaints) but it's time for a similar - but less ranty - message: My web hosting contra...

Does that mean we're big-time famous now :?: What do you mean "now"? This isn't the first hack the site's suffered (although it does appear to be one of the most tenacious). I've taken the non-forum parts offline temporarily as I've a sneaking suspicion that those pages are the weak link....

Yes, we're being hacked. I'm working on it.

Hopefully the error messages mean that the trojans the little [EXPLETIVE DELETED] are trying to load are now being blocked, but the firefighting continues.

I hope you've all got an up-to-date anti-virus running.

I host twenty two different websites with the company that hosts Gn15.info/MinimumGauge.info at a cost of £40/month. In the 12 months to July 2012 all 22 sites used 1,251.55 Gigabytes of bandwidt...

Re: Contribution

This may be a silly question but: How do I contribute? That's my fault for being too subtle, I suspect. I've changed the http://forum.gn15.info/friendofgn15.png image (which should appear at the top of every page) so that it acts as a "Make a donation" button (in case anyone was clicking ...

Where should I post?

This forum is intended to cover modelling Gn15 or modelling tips which aren't scale or gauge specific (e.g. scenery). If your post is about a minimum gauge model in a scale other than Gn15 then either the GNine or Size doesn't matter forum is probably the best place for it. Similarly, if it's not a ...

Also as matter of interest how does this forum compare with its sister Model Trains Interactive? MTI is a much quieter place Simon. It comes to life around each publication date, as is to be expected because it is the magazine's feedback forum. As for the modelling that takes place, the mag tends t...

I'll keep your names on record in case the workload ...

How to contact the moderators

If you have cause to contact the moderators of any forum the easiest way to do so is by using the Private Message function. Each forum shows its moderators underneath its description and if you click on this link it'll either give you a list of the moderators for that forum or (for GNine) show Ian's...

Tidying up the 15" gauge posts fora (+insanity poll)

The keen eyed amongst you may have spotted a new forum at the bottom of the page. The plan is to move threads which are currently sitting in the "Gn15 (or gnear enough)" category but which don't actually relate to Gn15/minimum gauge railways to this separate area. Why there are posts on a ...
