Estate Elongate

Right - the New Phase of Berger Hall - Elongation .... The plan is to have the railway running through a bit of estate scenery, with the Stable Yard scene as one end of an out-and-back layout ... https://i.imgur.com/2EMWwF8.jpg Building the new baseboards, using the tried and tested hardboard base w...

Re: Estate Update

Hi Les, I think I've sorted the crankpin problen with ETTIE - pushed the pins in and tilted the crossheads outwards a fraction. It's due a check run soon. As for the electrical fault on the back two lines - it went away later in the afternoon! I went though a diagnostic check with a kind soul from t...

Re: Estate Update

I had an interesting day at Pewsey with Berger Hall 2019, aka Berger Hall Miniature Railway. An intermittant electrical fault rendered the two rear tracks unusable from time-to-time, and ETTIE, which performed flawlessly at Warley, jammed the left-hand cross-head and front wheel crank pin within 30 ...

Re: Estate Update

Right - back from my hols and only a few days to Pewsey ... The 2-compartment open is finished and operational. The Smallbrook bogies were waiting for me when I got home, but they were a tight fit between the solebars of the coach - no room to pivot - so I cut one in half and made it a 4-wheeler ......

Re: Estate Update

We've had family staying with us for the last few days, so the layout got stowed away. Re: Estate Update

Having amassed a stash of body-parts from the Masterbox figures, Fujimi Mechanics set, Italeri Truck Drivers, and some Schleich left-overs that Igor has had maturing in his store for quite a while, we set about mix-and-matching them to get the required 4 drivers, plus misc. seated passengers and sta...

Re: Estate Update

Another 3-week hiatus - but I did spend one week of it walking in Cornwall (and didn't we have lovely weather instead of incessant rain). We went down and back by train, which was a lot easier than driving, and on the whole worked out very well. I've been giving some thought to populating the layout...

Re: Estate Update

While I was away doing other things I applied what's left of my mind to projected operation of the diorama/photo plank/mini layout. At first I thought that a simple traverser, to move between the two exit tracks, and to store off-scene trains, would fit the bill. But that would mean that there would...
