I love this Little layout, but there are a few details which disturb me: - Fishing boats are hard-working vessels, and it deserves the same degree of weathering we see on the Deutz. Trouble is, a boat does not weather the same way as a locomotive, so you need to find some prototype photos.. - I do n...
Do not miss Kim Marsh´s wonderful little diorama over on the Westlake Publishing Forums: http://www.finescalerr.com/smf/index.php?topic=2588.120 Yes, it is around 12" gauge but it is a working railroad in a run down industrial setting.
Over on the Westlake Publishing Forums, Kim Marsh is building a neat little layout in 1/35, 9 mm gauge, sized to go as carry-on luggage. Complete with mini-Lister.
Simon, Your press release assumes a great deal of advance knowledge, both by the reader and by the editor deciding whether it is worth publishing. Works here on Gnatterbox, but for a broader audience you need an introduction: What is the focus of your company, for which scales do you offer products ...
Either I was looking at an old website, or it is not current. I now see from their ad in NG&IMR that they have moved from "co.uk" tom ".com", and the E-mail address is now smallbrookstudio@gmail.com
Depends on how you define "Gn15" as ther are different interpretations of "G" - are you modeling to 1/20.3, 1/22.5 or 1/24 ? 16 mm scale is 1/19,06, so you divide 19,06 by either 20.3, 22.5 or 24, multiply by 100 to get a percentage and set your printer to print at either 94%, 85...
I think part of the problem with adding a cab to this chassis is that it is so short. If you compare with cabless versions most drivers seem to be seated with their bum back over the end beam. As your cab looks now, there is very Little room for Eddie to move around and access his control levers. So...
No, it is not 15" gauge, but it could have been, and is a neat prototype for Gn15, with a homebuilt chain drive steam loco of abt 1 ton.. Starts at 18:08 on this video:
As you can see below, the cabin is a bit low even for a 1/24 scale figure, but if not placed too close it is a great little steamer for Gn15 scale. This version is only 12 percent larger than the version TeBee describes as 1/32, so if that one is closer to scale, the "Gn15" version is mor...

Can anyone suggest a source for large scale machine tools? I am aware of the exquisite miniatures produced by Western Scale Models, but these would be overkill in my case, as they will only be glimpsed through a workshop window.
Ouch! That's way outside the price you want to pay for something that's going to get cut up. Would be much better going for the HO 45 tonner. That also has the outside side rods and is much more afford-able. Since the new loco is an O scale model of a 50-tonner, it should be about twice the size of...
Franck,
I love the no-nonsense industrial look of your layout. With a location like that, it would have been so easy to model a cute, touristy operation, but you avoided that trap!
Pete McParlin of Backwoods Miniatures is branching into O9 with a neat little IC Engine. Photos are posted on the On30 Conspiracy, and matching cars are promised for the future.
