Re: Pepper 7 Steve Bennett

I too had wanted to order from Steve. Website cart doesn't work and no response via email.

I know there is a phone number but I'd rather not pester him. I hope if he's unwell he recovers soon.

Perhaps best to drop him an email in a few months.

Re: A Christmas Window Display Layout

IMG_0446b.jpg Disaster strikes! Rudolph has a chassis problem. He's jumping around and generally not behaving. I never did finish the second porter in time for this year so i'll need to get down to the workshop! The layout came out of its packing crate two weeks ago. Two of the Elve's servos were b...

Or it could be due to the PHP errors the forum throws up when trying to read individual threads?

Re: 2015 challenge

I'm still onboard. And despite Christmas (busiest time of year work wise) and my young family getting in the way and insisting I spend time with them i've managed to get started on a maquette of an idea!

Will maybe post pictures once i'm feeling confident!

Re: 2015 challenge

If we have a set of rules, would someone please restate them in one post? That way, reference is easy and finding or printing a copy will be easy. 8) Rules are in the first post size to be 19 by 15 in(1915 connection) , no extra for fiddle stick etc(the extra 4in on base should be enough), and that...

Re: Any Gnotters still around?

Hi Martin, I'm still about and check the forum most days, but my modelling is mostly in O9 at the moment. I still occasionally see/communicate with Martin Hogg, he tends to dabble in other scales these days and I'm not sure he visits the forum too often. I can't let this opportunity pass to have a ...

I may be wrong but I think the turnout/turntable rule is there to add operational interest.. I swonder if other prototypical mechanical line/route changing devices would be accepted?
(not that I think the rules need changing)

Re: 2015 challenge

I'll try to do something. I doubt that anything I make would be 'magazine quality', Making something "Magazine Quality" isn't really what Gnatterbox Challenges are about... it's about getting people modelling, showing what can be done with minimum gauge and minimum space. Besides your mod...

It seems I can only get onto the Gnatterbox for about three hours a day for some reason. anon know what that's about? Chris I don't think i'll be doing anything too realistic either. ...

Re: A challenge for 2015 and 2016

Am I reading right that we're talking about 19"x15" maximum base dimensions, working, not static? No limit on turnouts, etc. And I assume no limit on vertical dimension? Past those dimensions, there's no limit on subject, etc.? No other specific requirements? I think that's what...

Re: A challenge for 2015 and 2016

not sure if thee has been any decision, but I see it more as guidelines than rules. As the centenary is not till end of August, that gives plenty of time for something. My feelings are for mini layout for 2015, and maybe something else(loco, rolling stock) for 2016 if anyone wants. I have send a qu...

Re: A challenge for 2015 and 2016

Perhaps another way to look at "15 for 15" is that as a forum or the wider Gn15 modelling world we're aiming to present a minimum of 15 layouts constructed in 2015 to the world. That could be online on a special page... or in an exhibition (or series of exhibitions) that take place around ...

Until it's fixed you can upload photos using the "Attachments" box which you will find below the post text editor. Once an image is uploaded click "Place Inline" to insert the image into a post.

You'll need to resize your post to a reasonable size before uploading

Re: A challenge for 2015 and 2016

I read that the boxes weren't available now. What size were they? Seems that a 'standard' footprint would be sufficient and not limit the thing to one maker's 'box'. A size limit would be one way. One advantage of using one makers "box" (though of course it doesn't have to be a box) was t...

Re: A challenge for 2015 and 2016

just my penny's worth but i've always thought that Gn15 is at its best when it's minimum gauge in minimum space. It makes for a goal that is achievable no matter what past experience a modeller has (or does not have) I'd definitely favour an operating layout as opposed to a diorama... again because ...
