Re: Variant of the Carl Arendt SAP Line

Minor progress over the last couple of days. The control panel has now been drilled out, section and other switches added, and the whole thing trial fitted to the back mdf panel: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4443/23986027608_2755958408_c.jpg 2017-10-21 20.59.56 by lesmond2009 , on Flickr https://f...

Re: Variant of the Carl Arendt SAP Line

Planking finished, just to add "nails" and finish the inspection hatch (currently a square piece of styrene): https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4465/37645117936_b382e2db32_c.jpg 2017-10-14 17.44.24 by lesmond2009 , on Flickr It looks fairly ok (I think, anyway) in place: https://farm5.staticf...

Re: Variant of the Carl Arendt SAP Line

Be sure and say "hello" :) I've added the power feeds to the rails, and started planking the turntable: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4463/37621319751_68c8f10642_c.jpg 2017-10-10 17.48.14 by lesmond2009 , on Flickr The other side will have an inspection hatch set into the planks, and the ...

Re: Variant of the Carl Arendt SAP Line

This one is due out at the NDMRS show in April of next year, so its all hands to the pump to get it done. The turntable is crucial to the alignment of the rest of the track, so today I glued the track to the mdf top, and once that was set added one of the plastic sides to level the top with the top ...

Re: Small I/C "critter"

Road Runner is due out again at the weekend, so I took advantage of it being ex crate to test the new build: https://youtu.be/1lxPg8gNyT8 As you might expect with a Kato 11-103, it runs nice and smoothly. The engine compartment has quite a bit of lead in it, which helps no end. The footplate really ...

Small I/C "critter"

I've no end of projects on at present, and have none of them even nearly finished, so the last thing I need to do is start another one. So that's just what I did :D. This one shouldn't take too long, however the layout it will eventually run on (C Rapper & Sons) is well and truly on the back bur...

I'd prefer the chassis with no buffers if possible.

That's an excellent idea, Peter - thanks for the diagram. As you said, that is do-able in styrene.

Cheers, Chris :) I've attached the chassis to the floor, and added some scrap lead to get the weight up: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4311/35348437944_5ce272a609_c.jpg 2017-07-26 20.42.15 by lesmond2009 , on Flickr The tank is an easy build - top and bottom go together, then the two ends, then the...

That's very annoying, Bill. At least you got to the bottom of it, and thankfully these wee chassis aren't too expensive to replace.

Experiments with tippers

I've been on the lookout for tippers for some time, and can't quite find anything that suits what I'm after. So, I decided to see what I could bodge together, and ended up (so far) with this for the tipper body: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4386/35623021833_1577639a85_c.jpg 2017-08-07 20.23.40 by ...
