Re: Father and Son Gnine Project

Oh crikey if MOMING was that close I'd be in a pickle! Relax Bill you've got some time yet - I'm already looking forward to the next Pewsey show, it's usually my favorite to attend!

Thank you both for your encouragement, it'll be a nice break from straining at 009 for a bit :)

Re: Father and Son Gnine Project

It's been a while, eh! Well the layout survived a couple of shows, but unfortunately the track work gave up afterwards, it just wasn't built that well, and since the lad has all but lost interest anyway, I decided to strip the board a little while ago and focus on my 009 layout. So sadly t...

Re: Watts'

Good luck with the sale, Bill. I've think you'll increase your chances of success using the trade section on gnatterbox and for sale section on NGRM, shame it has to go but if it leads to something new I'm all for it!

Re: Watts'

Well the room isn't that big Bill...I'm sure we can find a way to harrass you - the way the boy has been of late he'll be more interested in gorping at a screen of some kind should there be one there (to keep him quiet I'll probabaly let him bring his tablet and a camera, he likes taking pics) plus ...

Re: Father and Son Gnine Project

My KATO mech bit the dust and another is on order, just incase it doesn't make it - I have started a new scratch build on my Bachmann chassis to fill the void... https://nookyworks.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/workbench.jpg Originally this little loco had an enclosed cab..but it didn't look right so ...

Re: Father and Son Gnine Project

Yes, the material comes dried in a box - some modellers dip theirs into a mix of water and matte medium to make them more durable, and there are products available that you can brush on to them to get the same effect...I sprayed mine with watered down white glue and they seem to be fine (so far) but...

Re: Father and Son Gnine Project

Cheers David, I'm not sure what you chaps in the states call this but the initial 'bush' structure is the same as others use for trees in 4mm/7mm scale 'seamoss' http://www.internationalmodels.net/acatalog/Seamoss.html - I didn't paint mine and I wish I had, you can also make them stronger with prod...

Re: Father and Son Gnine Project

Last post was January! Not on your nelly!!! in all seriousness I have spent a little while away from the things i enjoy, for the simple reason that I wasn't enjoying them. Probably a light bit of depression brought on by lack of sleep (we had a baby last July) and 'winter blues'. That bein...

Love that little green diesel! Card is such a great medium to work in, I was a little afraid to at first, but it's actually quite solid when you get into it don't you think?

Horrible news, such a nice guy taken away in such a horrible way. He deserved much better. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Thanks for your interest Doc, I use fibres from here: http://www.internationalmodels.net/acatalog/Silflor_Tufts.html They are puffed out of a Noch puffer bottle, onto a thin layer of white glue white sits on top of a light layer of gr...

I love this bit! https://nookyworks.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/img_2473.jpg Yup, grass is growing, I hear that bushes will follow and that the ballast will be washed with various acrylics in the coming weeks 8) Bit of waffle on the blog about the details, quite simple stuff really, here's to a crea...

Blimey...it's been a while. Little has changed since the last post, other than we had to get the track up and re-laid as things started to fall off thanks to gaps appearing in the track, shunting was also a challenge on the reverse-curve so we have simplified the layout significantly. https://nookyw...

Perhaps I should point out that although the Forum has 996 registered members, a number are now deceased and 446, although registered, have never posted. There are also a large number who have made but a single post. The core membership is therefore quite small and they will have to provide the fun...

I would like to volunteer to help, I missed the opportunity to become a mod last time around - the Gnatterbox is where I discovered Gnine and I would hate to see it go. Those who take charge please do get in touch and let me know what I can do to assist 8)

Interesting stuff this R/C. Is the receiver connected to the motor pick-ups? Or somewhere else? (Not too knowledgable about all this)
