Simon, The point motors operate as two wire, requiring a DC Voltage of between 8V and no more than 12V, min 500ma to max of 1amp. On my little APA layout couple of photos, point motor control is via DPDT switch's wired as a reversing switch, have a momentary push to make button to make the connectio...

Much happenings down at Pott's Yard, under the cover of darkness three mechanical handling machines were moved by tractor and trailer up the farm track at the rear of the yard from the main line some 10 miles away. Anticipation grew to a fever pitch as 09.30 am approached, awaiting the arrival of th...

Hi Glen & Adrain, Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post your observations. Unfortunately leaving the road wheels on puts the kibosh on my meticulously planned “ mouse hole theory” on the APA project! Played around with your suggestions and ideas, longer wheelbase defiantly looks better ...

Ideas for motorising a Golf Cart Buggy for Gn15 use.

In need of some light relief from the APA's. Been pursuing the posts, noticed that chassis, motors and the TUK TUK had gained some prominence. Regrettably my TUK TUK was one of the casualties from the tree story. Remember seeing somewhere many moons ago, I think a Jack Nicklaus model of a golf cart,...

Whilst idling the time away waiting for the tree man, began some tentative steps into the mystic sphere of scenery! Earlier this morning after completing the daily domestic chores, nipped down to our local sand quarry and blagged a couple of take away containers of our local red sand. Never have bee...

Update...... Two Bridge Curve, all wired up and tested. Coving complete, internal of box painted white, if dry later will apply the back scene colour, plus add a pelmet to the front. Again been fiddling with battery powered stick on cupboard/shed led lights from Poundland, these are two for a pound!...

Update...... Pott's Yard, track, point motor, and all associated wiring completed and tested. Same point motor switch arrangement as Clyst Halt. Homebase currently not stocking the smaller profile of coving I had been using, have purchased the next size up, and hope it is not too obvious! If dry lat...

Tad more progress on Pott's Yard, at the moment whilst the weather is dry and on short shifts aim to get as much of the woodworking side completed as possible. Have no where under cover to work, and whist my beloved tolerates a fair amount, sawdust and PVA glue in the new carpet is not going to help...

How about a coracle instead?
How rustic do you want the bridge to be?

Great idea the coracle, and as for rustic that is cool, save at bit on the materials for construction.

(F) Pott's Yard

The other half of the box in keeping with the rural theme, garden centres, animal feed, etc. will become Pott's Yard, the proprietor being a one M.T. Pott's. Through running line, small siding, loading dock/shed............ to be developed. http://my.gn15.info/potts_yard.jpg John

Gents, in reference to the questions, Bob, the idea behind the two halves (which incidentally now feature elsewhere!) was to see if it was possible to fit a curve. I used a pair of Hornby R605 double curve 1st radius, as ever a compromise between what would fit in the box, what was likely to be run,...

The perception that a Gn15 layout needs to be the size of pizza or shoe box is what is holding this scale back. Hopefully the APA challenge, along with other numerous Gn15 projects, may be the way forward for Gn15 to make a name for itself, and alter attendees at main stream exhibitions point of vi...

Hi Andy,

Nice job you are doing there, from the latest MGM kit, the one I was drooling over at Pewsey

Like the shape of the cab, nice touch the rounded corners of the cab entrance.

Good to see another small coach available, will this fit onto a wide choice of chassis?

(F) Clyst Halt & Farm Shop -- APA

Hi all, Do like this idea, the more I've thought about it, over the last week the more I can see in the potential of the idea. So first grateful thanks to my other half who unbeknown to me undertook the task of driving the 140 odd mile round trip to IKEA in Bristol, and upon my return home from late...
