I do like it. I hope it gets yellowed and aged. For me, that would be the proper look and not be so bright below the layout.

Nice work, great idea!

Re: Why can't sellers get the scale correct?

I gave up on scale and now always ask them to measure the object. Even the packaging is wrong many times. But, even that fails if the seller can't read a measuring stick.

Re: Why can't sellers get the scale correct?

Jerks are everywhere. He doesn't care, he just wants to sell.

I bought a bunch of toys... models, and asked how tall a specific figure in the set was... 2.5 inches I was told. Bought the lot and discovered that 2.5 inches in their world is 4 inches in mine. Grrr...

Nice one Geoff, very handy. I am looking for a suitable paper model building for a machine shop on my layout and that easy conversion chart will make that search easier yet.

Re: Battery Power and R/C ???

Carlo, the batteries are dangerous when they are pushed past their limits. The manufacturers obviously don't know what they are doing in some cases. They are safe if you treat them in a normal fashion, that is use them as designed. I am no serious model maker, but here is my thread on building an RC...

Yep, should work well with styrene. I got the fireless loco kit a while back. Gotta do that one too.

Re: Geoff Potter's Gn15 2015 challenge layout

My wife is getting ready to do the top half of a wall in our bedroom using the 'leather' technique. She intends to use an idea she saw on the 'net. Paint the surface and stick the paper into the paint. Paint is much cheaper than the modpodge stuff and works fine. Then coat the paper with modpodge or...

Peter, I too am sorry you have to take this course. I have always enjoyed your work and will miss it. Edited to add... Your work has been an inspiration to me and was probably the most important to my decision to model in Gn15. And... Maybe you could just give us an update once in a while from a lib...

What about using brown paper and modpodge to make a sort of leather look? Wrinkle the paper and glue it on with the decoupage stuff.

You can get them from the Orlik site in Poland. Let me look up the address for you. I've bought quite a few from them and have always had good luck. Quick shipping and no problems at all. This is the site. There are buttons at the top of the page for language and monetary units. http://sklep.orlik-m...
