Hi Kevin,

Yeah, looking at Dieselwater’s profile the last time he signed in was May 2015. Those years sure go quickly.

Re: 1/12 scale loco

Hi Kevin,

I think I've sorted your over abundance of pics. :D

The loco looks very nice. Hoping you consider this is a complement but it looks very much in the style of Dieselwater's machines to me.

Re: Dimensions for a loco and wagon?

Hi Paul, As a further indication of what can be done with cardboard (and some poster paint or similar) take a look at Dieselwater's posts over the years. He's always used the most basic raw materials but turns them into intriguing and interesting models. He started here with a toy http://gn15.info/f...

Re: Dimensions for a loco and wagon?

Paul,

One last suggestion: grab an old cereal packet or similar bit of card and some glue or tape and mock up a wagon or two and maybe a loco. It's a great way to quickly get the feel of any scale with almost no cost.

If it looks right, it is right. :D

Re: Dimensions for a loco and wagon?

Hi Paul, Welcome to the Gnatterbox! Life is rather quieter in here than a few years back but there are still folk working away in Gn15. If you're a Facebook user there's a group there too, see: https://www.facebook.com/groups/114811365587118/ In answer to your question take a look at the kits here, ...

Re: First micro layout

Hi Chris,

I’m not quite sure if the ‘passengers’ are dinosaurs or dragons, but it seems to me that you next piece of rolling stock should be some sort of wagon lined with straw with a bunch of eggs nestling in it.

Re: [1:12] First micro layout

Chris,

It's a slippery slope from modelling what pretty much equates to 7 1/4" gauge in 1/12 scale to realising it gives a very practical but small narrow gauge with plenty of potential in real life.

See the link below my signature for more. :D

Hi Chris, Re video: I know Barry (through the internet) whose layout that is. 16mm scale on 32mm track, all the track and points are hand made. Live steam and battery electric locos. Barry also works on a very tight budget. The main difference between your first design and the latest one is that in ...

Re: Bergerac's small layout

Chris, I think that’s fine. I’m a big believer in keeping it simple. You can have masses of fun shuffling things from one siding to another to make up a train of wagons in just the order you want. Then, when it’s ready or you want to relax, out it goes for a few circuits. The next thing is to decide...

Re: First micro layout (now dismantled)

Chris, Some of the most innovative and beautifully detailed creations have been the so called ‘pizza’ layouts. In once sense just a circle of track but in reality so much more. To hopefully make it easier here’s a selection of those that have ‘pizza’ in their title. http://gn15.info/forum/search.php...

The loco seems to ride those curves no problem.

My smart phone isn't that smart either. Mind you, I have a nasty suspicion it’s smarter than me.

Hi Denny,

Good to see you’ve got back in to the Gnatterbox.

I was initially a bit flummoxed by your request, but I tried a search or two and wondered if this thread showed the sort of thing you are after:
