1/24 scale if done in WSF becomes affordable. That other plastic is just too expensive in the larger scales.

Re: New Layout in the design phase

That looks like a very well thought out plan. Nicely done and mines allow for a lot of interesting engines and rolling stock. Go for it! Ozark Miniatures has some GN15 mining engines and ore cars as well as 1/2 inch scale mine buildings. I have no interest in that company other than being a satisfie...

Re: Finally a new loco start

Yes to the weight but it is a bit tricky. The rear is no problem, but the front is. I can't simply put lead on the top of the chassis, because it will make the front wheels difficult to turn left and right. Gotta do some pondering and experiments for this. Then finally paint the body and stick it on...

Re: Finally a new loco start

No video yet but the chassis is pretty done. Just needs leveling. The PVC is quite slippery so it may serve as a bearing surface for the front 0-4-0. Needless to say Blu-Tac holds the whole thing together. I was actually able to cut pretty square surfaces by using the NWSL Duplicator and a small squ...

Re: Finally a new loco start

I have no idea how to do video on this camera since it is my wife's. She did show me once but, well, duh. Anyways stills. It runs OK but will need a lot of lead to stay on the rails with 10-12" radius turns. But it works. Video when she can show me again. still the work is just beginning. other...

Re: Finally a new loco start

Doctors poking and prodding me last week slowed down progress. The joy of being old. Now I need to get the gear shaft to run concentrically again and we will have test run video, maybe this weekend.

Where did you cut to shorten those models, Grum? That seems like a great idea to get standard size small coaches. I may get some and make sides for them.
