The 18" gauge Horwich loco that Michael based his model, built on a Percy chassis, was in fact a copy of a Beyer Peacock design that was built with only a well tank. The L&Y added a saddle to overcome the limited water capacity. The only example I know of the original B.P. loco without sadd...
