Shouldn't she be in Vermin Trains livery as a Thunderbird?

Effie would be easy to power using fishing line, but what I had in mind next was something like one of the little Motor Rail petrol engines used on the first world war trench railways.

Hayfinch Unplugged

That could make a FAB micro Tracey Island Light Railway? ...it may be the solution to putting man powered (or even horse powered) mining stock into the layout without it being 'frozen'. I'd thought about that one, but the trouble is that on the return run you'd have the cart before the horse (or ma...

Hayfinch - The End (for now)

I have been experimenting with horizontal puppet strings to operate trains on a simple back and forth shuttle. First in OO9 then in N scale. I have now tried this method in Gn15 on the Hayfinch Estate's gravel pit branch. The diorama retains its electrics so that it can be operated conventionally wi...

You may not be far off there George, languages are living things and do evolve as time goes on. Mmmmm, unfortunately the English language seems to be devolving into 'text', or should that be 'txt'? So the top bits of houses are now 'rfs'. :o Ask a teenager if they know any morse code, or even what ...

Re: Modular Layout - Ideas Poll on "Modelling Matters&a

Absolutely. I also think it'd make a lot of sense to stay with whatever is decided for the group as a whole so that whatever we create locally can be used in the Big Layout. Of course! What I a suggesting is just a trial run as an area group thing, hopefully to create GnATTERbox-wide interest. :win...

Modular Layout - Ideas Poll on "Modelling Matters"

Elsewhere in GnATTERbox there is a topic on building a joint layout. Would any GnOrtherners be interested in a trial run as an area group project? What might work for me would be a group of people all tackling aspects of one industry - salt, coal, timber and so on; or each taking one location on a m...

Hey we're here!!

Hiya all and thanks Emrys. I only suggested this yesterday and here we are. I'm not sure who we are, but we're here anyway! As you can see from my signature I am not really that far GnOrth, but I was born in Lancashire so I class myself as a GnOrtherner anyway. Thanks for creating the group Emrys.

Area Groups

I am not sure how to start a new train in the area groups :? so I'll post here and let the admin shift it if they see fit :) Can we have a new area group - GnOrtherners :?: I know I'm only a borderline GnOrtherner here at the sunny end of Cheshire but I'm sure there are more Gn15ers between me and S...
