Re: Sources of figures

At a show over the weekend, once of the traders was showing me some new 16mm figures from Bachmann. Sizewise, the height was about the same as the Bachmann G-scale figures but they were much heavier built. From the weight, I would have said cast resin. Price was £22 per pair. http://www.bachmann.co....

Re: 1/24th Ford Transit Van

The Italeri kit is a reissue of the old ESCI kit. A search around the web shows some very well done conversions including this one to a drop side body : http://www.modelrailforum.com/forums/index.php?s=faca3e4fbf2706cdff4644b9c1997297&showtopic=6729&view=findpost&p=228531 I'll see if my ...

Re: Kit form Services Workshop detailing parts

It's been a while but I've built most of the toolboxes and workshop equipment. Toolboxes were fiddly but manageable, everything else went together with a little fettling. Photos show most of the items in their basic colours - nothing fancy, Matt black, landrover green, tank grey, silver and red. DSC...

Re: What Find in Scotland?

One possibility as you head up or back from Dundee is the Almond Valley Railway at Livingston (just west of Edinburgh) - 2-foot 6 inch gauge with some ex-mod stock - I put some photos of it up a few years ago here : http://gn15.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9391 The other well known one is the...

Kit form Services Workshop detailing parts

Hi folks, I received a parcel of bits from Kit Form Services this morning which I thought might be of interest. Service was excellent - I emailed Howard on wednesday night, had a reply and paid for the parts thursday morning and received a parcel containing said parts on friday. I ordered 3 lots of ...

Re: A4 Diorama

Well, Model Rail Scotland has now passed and the results are in. A4_comp.jpg 3 entries this year (that's 3 up on last year and 2 up on the year before). One 0-gauge, 1 00-gauge and 1 Gn15. Trophy went to the 0-gauge diorama as the judge could "see what the purpose of it was" (whatever that...

Re: A4 Diorama

I think I'm finished. The only thing I'm really not happy about is that the PVA dried shiny under the static grass but I'll live with it. Some sunshine today so a couple of atmospheric shots : finished1.jpg finished2.jpg I'll let you know how I get on at the challenge judging  Andy 8)

More progress. Polystyrene covered with paper mache and painted with emulsion paint. Building painted, windows boarded up, door constructed (thin card, rivets embossed, spray painted silver). Starting to come together now. Last major item to do is static grass and then onto detailing and weathering....

Thanks Chris, I bought that issue at the time and had considered upscaling it to Gn15.

One more progress photo - hilsides roughly carved, track embeded and building shell built.

Hi Folks, It's been a while since I posted but I'm back modelling again. Each year, the club I'm a member of has a modelling competition for it's members and each year has a different specification. Last year the baseboard was a maximum of 3.14 sq feet and this year the specification is : Diorama Ma...

Re: Hollywood Foundry Motor Bogie

I have one of the the Hollywood Foundry bullant drives under a 00 gauge kit and it runs beautifully but I have found that the drive belts perish quite quickly - my first one only lasted about 2 years. Spares are available though.

Re: Cost of shipping from Europe

As a matter of fact, none of the three German companies I know, which are selling laserkit designs have heard of him, so I wonder, where he got the information, regarding postage costs from. 30 Euro postage for a padded envelope to the USA sounds unbelievable. I had a look at the lasergang website ...

Re: Exhibition stand ideas for APA layout???

My current layout uses a keyboard stand (intended for music keyboards), height is adjustable between 24 and 36 inches which is a good height for me looking over from the back and for children looking from the front while not being too low for adults. It also folds flat which is good for transport an...

My copy of NG&IRM (no 102) has arrived today and the article on the layout looks really good. Also features on the front cover (is this a first for a Gn15 layout, front cover of a magazine?)

Congrats.

Re: Links in VE/LS go to 403 page

Hi Gerry,
I had a look and if you replace forum.gn15.info with gn15.info/forum (leaving the rest of the link as is) the links work fine - is there a find/replace option that could automate it for the phpbb software?

Re: GN15 at Model Rail Scotland

Hey, alright. What was the general flavor of input from the public? General input from the public was good, often it was the wives were drawn to the Gn15 with comments to husbands about "you could do that", I had a couple of conversations with modellers who currently modelled in O9 but we...

GN15 at Model Rail Scotland

Just finished day 2 at Model Rail Scotland (with 1 more day to go) exhibiting my 00 gauge layout and I took some of my Gn15 stock to display on the group demonstration stand. None of the others had brought anything to display so ended up filling the display. Lots of interested comments from the publ...

Links in VE/LS go to 403 page

I've been wandering the Virtual Exhibition and Loco Shed looking for ideas and the links in format forum.gn15.info go to a 403 error page but gn15.info/forum links work fine.

Seems to be all of the threads from 2013 and earlier as the 2015 ones are in the latter format.
