I never really got around to finishing off my Bedford. But, I love the detail on the frame so much, I think it deserves showing.... so cab and chassis it will probably remain. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/Gavin_Sowry/001_zpsac6f8a6d.jpg :D Fellow modellers agreed that 'cab and chassis' i...

:D N2GS ready for start of play on day 2 of Rail-Ex 2014. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/Gavin_Sowry/009_zps07e65a6a.jpg A change of transformer/controller solved the 'overrun' problem we had yesterday, and respacing the diode gaps was not necessary. He ran Petherick Quay all day, without c...

:D Day 1 of Rail-Ex successfully completed. Last night, when I was supposed to be in bed, I decided to do the 'track cut and diode trick' to stop anything doing a high dive off the end of the layout. Moderately successful.... I miscalculated the momentum effect, and need to set the cuts back a bit. ...

:D Less than 23 hours now until Petherick Quay debuts under its new name at Rail_Ex 2014. Trial packed the car last night.... layout fits on the back window ledge of my Vectra, Haywards on the back seat, Silverpine, and Glen Road in the boot, along with 'box of tricks' for fixing things that won't g...

Boat firmly anchored in the canal. Swapped out the HD for a wartime model HD, and the Great Pumpkin delivered a partly finished Willeys Jeep for Halloween.

Thanks for all the replies folks. Shame Scott's Lister kit is not available anymore. I will have to scratch build something to fit. I have been able to get the Bachmann On30 tram to go around a 6" radius before. It's has a 41" wheelbase and can be cut down in size. I think Steve Bennett h...

 My farthings worth on this. The larger the wheel diameter, and longer the wheelbase, the greater the minimum radius required. I'd take the Bachmann GM any day over the On30 tram chassis.

 Bit of tidying up carried out, and the shed 'moved' slightly so that locomotives can now enter it.

Will display, in modified form, at Rail-Ex 2014 next month, along with the other usual suspects. 8)

Anything less than 200mm and you will be better off using a rooster bar to couple  I've successfully used PECO On30, bent to 3½" radius, and use standard Kadee couplers. 8) Motive power is Bachmann Gas Mechanical based. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/Gavin_Sowry/004-5-1-1.jpg h...

Keep nagging Steve for your kit. I've found him to be good to deal with over the years. Sadly, some have had problems. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/Gavin_Sowry/020.jpg As you can see, his kit is a good job. One of those cabs is scratchbuilt (during a show). 8) My advice to newcomers, who profess limited talent, is to get a Bachmann Davenport Gas Mechanical, and a Sidelines/Pepper cab kit.... and have a go. And, for track, my simple advice is use PECO On30, unaltered (but weathered).... some guys just get too complicated, trying to modify ordinary OO or...
