Re: Repowering a Sidelines Wasp

If that's the case the you could always build a permanently connected shunter's wagon with extra pick-ups.

Re: Repowering a Sidelines Wasp

That's a shame to hear as I've been operating a 44 powered Wasp all weekend and it ran beautifully. How about getting the bogie serviced so it runs well :?:

Re: Exhibition stand ideas for APA layout???

Exhibiting at two different shows at the weekend I'd estimate that around 1/4 maybe 3/8 were children. It would be a shame if children were put off from modelling by only seeing chimneys go past.

Re: The Middle Yard

Thanks everyone. Well I came downstairs to a bit of a disaster as the tank tape on the inside curve had come away  Remembering the well known phrase "if it moves went it shouldn't- use tank tape" I extended the covering across both faces of the board. This I shall leave on top of the...

The Middle Yard

Thought it was time I started a gnew Gn15 layout, particularly as it is already booked into two or three shows this year already. Track plan will be a simple 4-2-2 inglenook. So far I've cut the baseboard out of a piece of insulation foam and reinforced the edges with duct tape. http://i208.photobuc...

Re: cutting track

Xuron track cutters for me. I only use mine for track and they still look brand new. I haven't needed to use a file as I turn the rough cut end 180 degrees and recut it.

As for joiners I place them by hand but then push them into place with needle nose pliers taking care to only grip the lower layer.

Re: Sleeper spacing - centres or between sleepers ?

My avatar just happens to be a picture of the track at Hythe Station on the RH&DR and shows that the spacing is more likely 30". IIRC, the sleepers originally were closer when built which was found to be excessive so when replaced they increased it. This public domain photo shows sleeper sp...
