The Middle Yard

Thought it was time I started a gnew Gn15 layout, particularly as it is already booked into two or three shows this year already. Track plan will be a simple 4-2-2 inglenook. So far I've cut the baseboard out of a piece of insulation foam and reinforced the edges with duct tape. http://i208.photobuc...

Xuron track cutters for me. I only use mine for track and they still look brand new. I haven't needed to use a file as I turn the rough cut end 180 degrees and recut it.

As for joiners I place them by hand but then push them into place with needle nose pliers taking care to only grip the lower layer.

My avatar just happens to be a picture of the track at Hythe Station on the RH&DR and shows that the spacing is more likely 30". IIRC, the sleepers originally were closer when built which was found to be excessive so when replaced they increased it. This public domain photo shows sleeper sp...

The Army Painter dips are something I've looked at in the past after watching videos on YouTube but I couldn't work out how to dip a loco in :!: Did you brush it on :?:
