I've made a start at the 10mm deep brick building which covers the mdf panel at the left hand end. Mocked up it looks like this:

and has since been trimmed to fit properly at the inside corner. I've since joined the two sections of brick embossed styrene together, cut out the door and windows openings, and started work on the bracing at the back:

The door and windows as well as their frames will be seperate assemblies, and added once the front is painted. The join between the two sections of brick will be covered by a convenient big pipe :)

Today saw the basic structure finished (no door / windows yet) and temporary fitment. A slight modification was needed to the wood strip above the control panel (15mm or so had to go) but that was it. Held in place with spring clamps it looks like this:

I'm all smiles as it looks like I imagined it :D

Next is the loading platform, so using the widest thing available (the battery / electric locomotive) I marked out the edge onto the foam and temporarily fitted a piece of brick embossed plastic (at the correct height, allowing for ground cover to bury the sleepers). This allows two flat wagons to be loaded, with room for one other wagon if needed during busy periods:

The emery board indicates the wall of the corrugated iron shed. Next to make the loading platform which should take no time (he added hopefully :) ).

Happy with the days work :)

Further progress, the tippers are now assembled and painted:

and will be set aside for a while prior to weathering.

The loading platform is taking shape:

and should be more or less finished (except for the top surface) tomorrow.
