Paper railtruck finally moving along

For discussion of the issues faced when building a model or layout - how to replicate wood, what glues to use, exactly how much weathering can a Gnat take, a good source of detailing accessories - you get the picture, I'm sure.

Paper railtruck finally moving along

It has been eons since I actually completed something (not quite yet :( ) but progress none the less.
I just finished building the Grandtline power truck (80:1 gear ratio) and will install it in the paper truck for G9 running. I had to regauge the wheels from HOn3 to 9mm but they seem OK. It will be R/C with the receiver and battery in the nose.
Should be noisy and really slow, just like a good railtruck should be.

Me too! Hopefully by the weekend I can stick it on my Kato oval and get a movie of it.

Not mine unfortunately. Jim Snee designed it. It is somewhere on the Internet. He has another design for the Thakham Loco in The Tome.
