Crundells Estate

For discussion of the issues faced when building a model or layout - how to replicate wood, what glues to use, exactly how much weathering can a Gnat take, a good source of detailing accessories - you get the picture, I'm sure.

Progress is always slow in February as I'm involved in organising Model Rail Scotland but some progress has happened. I've mocked up the garden walls and got a greenhouse from Petite Properties (I asked for 3 but they only had 1 left in stock). Landscaping beyond the walls has been started and I now have much more of a feel for how it will look.

The mockup walls will be redone using a brick stencil and brick compound. I'm still trying to decide if I buy a couple more of the greenhouses and modify them or scratchbuild the other two sections to fit. The plan is to continue the greenhouses all the way into the corner.

Hopefully I will get the layout supports finished later in the week and get the layout set up completely to do some test running. :)

Much progress has occurred :D

The layout has been set up in full and mostly works (1 duff point motor to replace and the board interconnects to be made).

Much brick stencilling has occurred with the garden walls beginning to take shape. Caping stones are a modified D-shape wooden moulding. I've decided on the greenhouse layout but await the second greenhouse arriving before that can progress.

Progress report.

On the workshop board, the doors have now been fitted and the roofing complete. I was having problems with my usual corrugated foil for the roofing but I found a supplier that does 1/32 corrugated plastic roofing at a reasonable price (Masons Attic MAS001).

On the garden board, the walls have been completed, the greenhouse mostly built and the greenhouse interior started.
