Back once again!

For discussion of the issues faced when building a model or layout - how to replicate wood, what glues to use, exactly how much weathering can a Gnat take, a good source of detailing accessories - you get the picture, I'm sure.

Back once again!

Postby Robatron86 » Mon Feb 05, 2018 3:06 pm

Hello all I am back!

After a long period away, I have returned to Gn15. I have sold off all my American stock and decided to give the large scale a go again.

I have refurbished my critter and started building a open wagon.

The layout is 4ft by 18 inches and will use a turntable to save space.

Hi Rob,

Good to have you back.

A question if I may: I see you are using Photobucket, does that mean you are paying them a fortune or might your images suddenly vanish as they have for so many others?

Cheers,

Thank you Chris.

I do have a premium account with Photobucket, but I pay no subscription.

I hadn't really questioned it until now.

Afternoon everyone. I have progressed a bit further with this. All the track has been laid, wired and tested.

The next step is to give it all a blast with some muck and then ballasting the lot.

I was able to get the track sprayed this afternoon.

I used Humbrol Dark Earth acrylic spray.

Thanks Chris. I went with 6 inch radius at both ends.

Some structures are now appearing on the layout. The engine shed will be part of a larger workshop of sorts, which will be low relief in front of the rear part of the loop.

The back of the engine shed will be curved to follow the curve of the loop to make it look like it isn't a roundy roundy. I hope that makes sense.

The fuel tank is a left over from my HO days. It will receive larger diameter pipe work than it has now.
