long time no post.
I watched a Youtube video the other night on a 1957 April Fools spoof made by the BBC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVo_wkxH9dU. It told the story of Ticino in Switzerland where they have a yearly harvesting of spaghetti trees.
While I had seen the spoof many times before it gave me the idea for a spaghetti harvest layout, Attached is a very rough idea of what it might look like. There would be two passing loops, one out front and one hidden. A number of sidings, a spaghetti processing plant in low-relief with drying racks. There would be a row of spaghetti trees representing the end of a grove. One end would have a large tree and cafe as a view block. the other would have a "town gate" structure to hide exiting trains. I can use a range of pinup girl 1/24 figures from Master Box as seasonal spaghetti pickers, although the Swiss setting of the original doco would be too cool for the scantily clad ladies. The setting could be transfeered to the larger Po Valley in sunny Italy mentioned in the original film. I have a Kombi for the seasonal workers transport. This would all look great with the little Gn15 locos and wagons I have. Hope to start building in a couple of months.

cheers
