Here's an overall shot of the layout. I built it on top of a painting canvas frame, layered with cardboard. With the track glued down, the basic contours were made from plaster and sprayed black/ brown. I then made the ground cover from fish tank stones, ballast and the foilage is woodland scenics. The long grass type stuff was got from giving Mr sweepy a light trim back and sides
The shallow creek in the middle is made up of pva. The abandoned hut is cobbled together from card.
I use two of my Oil paintings as a background. I swap them around depending on the mood or atmosphere.
As I'm into oil painting, I've used oil paints alot for the painting of the layout, combined with acrylic sprays for the large areas.
I hope this gives encouragement to others with limited access to 00/H0 stuff, that it can still be done.
