Thank you all for the kind comments. I have been admiring the work of so many of you on this forum for some time. Compliments from models of your caliper are very special.
Portability was part of the plan from the beginning. The most enjoyable part of modeling is sharing the work with others. The criteria I designed this layout to was the length, width and height of the back of my Toyota Scion XB. I have room for two sections 54" x 18" with a height no more than 32". The layout is therefore in two sections joined by two alignment dowels and one bolt. I made a couple small stands on which it will sit on top of a standard table top making the viewing height 40".
It runs very well and quite slowly. At home it is a switching layout with manual operation of the turnouts. For shows two trains will run continuously. One on the front track and one on the rear track. I installed two Circuitron AR2 automatic reversing circuits with delay. The only shortcoming is that starts and stops are a little abrupt. Momentum throttle does not work with the reversing circuits. I will post another youtube after I finish the backdrops.
I am working on the backdrops and adding a back in the event the back is exposed at shows. Still need a few more details to add life and some more little folks. Added some freight details and a bunch more plants this week.
