1/12 scale on H0 track

Postby Kerluk » Mon Aug 28, 2017 5:11 pm

Hello Happy Members,
This is my very first try in 1/12 scale, so please don't be too cruel with my poor work. :}
Anyway all your constructive criticism are welcome. I used a standard Hornby "Smokey Joe" chassis (my favorite teapot for this kind of work). I built this critter with a few cereal boxes (empty of course !). I hope it's the right dimensions as I don't have a 1/12 scale driver figure. So I put a G scale figure to give an idea of the size of my loco.

I also built two wagons with Hornby wagon chassis. Right now I need a 1/12 scale driver figure and maybe a little crew.
Where can I find them ? Thanks.

The dimensions of all that stuff. Hope I'm right... :roll: Hope that helps.
It's my favorite color. Just between rust and old wood.

My train is almost finished, but it still needs a lot of improvements.

For a driver - tamiya do a 1/14th scale driver figure as a kit which might suit : http://www.ebay.fr/itm/TAMIYA-RC-Tractor-Truck-Driver-Figure-1-14-Assembly-Kit-56536-/401381965254?hash=item5d743abdc6:g:75EAAOSwENpZjIRF

Also, keep an eye out in charity/thrift shops for kids toys to convert - a figure about 5 to 6 inches high might suit.

There are a lot of 1/12 dollhouse folks that also might be usable. Some are articulated.

My wife and I are big fans of the TV show 'The Big Bang Theory', this, of course, comes from a wholly different angle...

Hi Chris,

I reckon you've created a very pleasing train, the overall size and proportions look just right.

Cheers,
