NO MORE PIZZA 'n' BEER

 Pizza 'n' Beer is no more, but it could be 'rebuilt' in 20 mins. The layout was passed its useby date, so, I've 'reclaimed the base, changed scale, added a building, and voila, Glen Road.

Image

It is Sn3½ scale, and the loco is an NZR Tr class shunting tractor, in brass even.

Layout debuts this weekend at Rail-Ex 2013.

Well I'm honoured that you have named your station after me.

:? Actually, my son Glen built the station, hence the name. He got an award for it at the 1994 Porirua Convention.

8) Two days solid running at Rail-Ex this weekend gone. No problems, very good reception from the punters.

8) One month, and one day after commencing to 'build' this 'new' layout, an article on the completed layout appeared in the NZ Model Railway Journal. The editor, upon seeing the layout on show at Rail-Ex, popped the usual 'When's the article for the Journal going to be ready?' as does every time I go anywhere near a model railway. 'Tonight', I said, to a disbelieving scribe. I got an e-mail next day from him thanking me for the dissertation.

The NZ Model Railway Journal, by the way, is not just some club type magazine, rather, a glossy, fully published, and professionally distributed, magazine.
