Coalition?

Postby DuffieldBank » Thu Apr 07, 2016 2:55 pm

Would anyone be able to help along my project? I've been trying to locate a decent set of dimensions for my Coalition build. Do drawings for the Bagnall (NOT Hunslet) frames exist?

Many thanks.

Chris

Coalition and Eclipse were converted from Bagnall locos, not Hunslets. I think the 7mm NGA may have published drawings of them at some point, but I cannot find them in my somewhat chaotic filing system (AKA a big heap  )
From memory I think the wheelbase is about 3 ft 3 inches if that is any help.

Thanks for pointing out the Bagnall roots Steve. After contacting the 7mm NGA, I will delve deeper into my archives as well. 3 foot 3 inches eh? I've worked with less! :P

Cheers,

Anyone know how the restoration of these locos is going on?

Ken

When I was firing the Santa trains on the WHR from Porthmadog to Beddgelert in early December they were sheeted over on a siding behind a shed at the Gelerts Farm site, along with a derelict Hudson Hunslet diesel. I guess that they are pretty much in the condition that they were when they left Llechwedd.
It would be better if they were under cover, as sheeted over can be almost as bad as being outdoors, moisture not being able to evaporate from underneath the sheeting. I suppose undercover storage space is at a premium at the Gelerts Farm site.

I was under the impression that when the locos were removed from site that they were going into some sort of restoration program.
