underground monorail line under London - idea for a layout?

Postby rue_d_etropal » Fri Oct 21, 2016 9:43 am

just found this via facebook
https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2016/10/12/the-private-monorail-tunnel-under-north-london/

might make an interesting little layout, the overhead monorail would be a challenge, but I suppose the idea of a normal track with cars without anyone in them might be an option, but I like the monorail.

Narrow gauge Francophile interested in 1m, 60cm,50cm , 40cm and smaller gauges . Build in scales from 1/6th to 1/24th. Also 1/32nd and 1/35th using 16.5mm track to represent 50cm and 60cm gauges.

That will be the Post Office railway then, see http://www.mailrail.co.uk DC traction and third rail pick up - giant Hornby Dublo!

that gives me an idea.I have just ordered one of the Marklin My World train sets, the wagons look similar, and I am thinking some sort of narrow gauge system similar to the post office system. It is remote control. Infrared I think, so train has to be in sight.

Even stranger - a cable hauled passenger carriage that turns in to a lift.

A model of that would not need much of a fiddle yard, but height could be a bit of an issue
