Survivors from a lost age (or maybe not?)

I got sent a couple of links to footage on Youtube of some Eastern European forestry railways.
One is in Ukraine:

The other is the more well known Viseu de Sus line in Romania:

Wonderfully battered locos, rolling stock and equipment that would make a great modelling challenge; decrepit track (probably un-modellable if you like your models to move!) and some seriously dodgy (Ok, downright dangerous) working practices. And it was all happening in 2013.
Does anyone know if the lines are still in operation, or has the modern world caught up with them?
Enjoy, but any Health and Safety professionals had better not watch
