Note the dual gauge tracks. I'm not sure how much it would cost for the little people in the model.

Do they have a transportation safety board?

I think they should be told. I wonder how difficult it is for the conductor to check tickets?

Ticket inspectors, easy, just do what Northern Rail did on Sunday of Tour de France and put them on station platforms, Seems it was easier(cheaper) than putting on more trains. We did suggest to first train guard that we were happy to be squashed in even more but he still refused.
A friend was telling a story last night about London Underground and how when one train failed they tried to put everyone on the next train, but one set of doors refused to shut properly so everyone had to get off and train had to set off with those doors open. Apparently the coach chassis got bent slightly, enough to stop the doors working properly, but when the empty train pulled off the coach straightened itself before the next station. The inspector at the next station was more worried how extra 2 trains worth of passengers were going to fit on the next train.
Interestingly passengers were not complaining. Suspect with our privatised greedy railways the offices would be buried in letters of complaint!
I have seen similar trains modelled in OO9.
It always amazes me how Indian Railways, whose administration is based on our old colonial bureaucratic system, allows such flexibility with passengers on trains. Possible their own safety, as trying to tell hundreds of people they can't get on the train might be very unhealthy.

To answer Marks question -- people get off, lie down or meet their maker!

There are a couple of videos on the net showing people getting on top of trains and just a tad to close to live wires...

Trains are similarly packed here in Nigeria, though there was a crack down the other week, so not quite so many roof or coupler riders at the moment.

I'll stick some pics up later.

Just read in paper today that India asked that the James Bond movie didn't show people riding on top of trains so they filmed it in Turkey instead.

That's a pretty narrow view... :lol: look at the narrow space between the two tracks on each line. Narrow... :mrgreen:
