The latest issue of Archive magazine (issue 104) arrived today and has the first of a two part article on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. This covers the line from Hythe to New Romney, so I guess part two will cover New Romney to Dungeness. There are a lot of photos from the earliest days of the line, including the Rolls Royce loco. I particularly like the photo of four locos being made ready for service around the turntable at New Romney in 1927. There is so much good stuff the RHDR article takes up half of issue 104's 64 pages, can't wait for part two!
If anyone has never seen Archive it is a quarterly journal for British industrial and transport history. It is always packed with well researched and written articles along with superb historic photos - well worth the subscription. See http://lightmoor.co.uk/category.php?section=IndArchive for details.
