Indonesian Railcars

Want to talk about Sir Arthur Heywood's 15" gauge railways? About modern day minimum gauge lines? Have you found a minimum gauge line you've not seen mentioned on the website? Want directions to one of the railways that is mentioned? Whatever your interest in real minimum gauge lines, post your questions (and answer other modellers' questions) here.

I've been doing some research, the railway is at Lebong Tandai and is now 600mm gauge but was originally 500mm. Once had a vast range of locomotives including some very usual Simplex.

The current rolling stock are known at Molek = Motor Lori Ekspres.

If it's the line I think it is it was originally overhead electric with little O&K locos.

I may have some photos somewhere.

Doubt if it was originally 50cm gauge, so googled it, and found this
http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/tales/indonesiatales01.htm

Turn out the mine section was 50cm but the rest has alwaysbeen 60cm gauge.
I think if you exhibied a layout with these railcars(??), people would not believe they existed. Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.

Narrow gauge Francophile interested in 1m, 60cm,50cm , 40cm and smaller gauges . Build in scales from 1/6th to 1/24th. Also 1/32nd and 1/35th using 16.5mm track to represent 50cm and 60cm gauges.
