Unidentified Lister

Want to talk about Sir Arthur Heywood's 15" gauge railways? About modern day minimum gauge lines? Have you found a minimum gauge line you've not seen mentioned on the website? Want directions to one of the railways that is mentioned? Whatever your interest in real minimum gauge lines, post your questions (and answer other modellers' questions) here.

Gents,

Apologies if this is no longer relevant, but I was talking today to a Lister owner from NW England about various castings etc. he was producing for a restoration. If anyone is interested please PM me and I will put you in touch.
Regards to all,

Voyager

After a long battle with magneto's and other things we are almost progressing. A test tow from 7954 shows that the magneto chain now stays on while a couple of back fires show that we have a spark and carburetion. As always with 12" to the foot modelling each step forward reveals a new problem (the clutch is stuck) but we getting closer....

We finally made it to Narrow Gauge North this year - it took a lot of hoisting to get it on and off the trailer but we got there.

It was worth the effort as taking the magneto apart generated the interest of a J.A.P. fan who pointed out that we've got a clockwise magneto and an anticlockwise engine. Which explains a lot.

So now all we have to do is convert the magneto from clockwise to anticlockwise....

It would look more realistic with a bit more weathering

The weathering is all for real - the greasy black fingerprints are all mine.....

I really do want to finish the thing - its been ongoing for years.

This year's open day is 24th June if anyone is interested

More to do in places, but it has been running. The JAP engine turns out to be a bit of an awkward thing - no wonder so many failed in service due to oil supply problems. Its got a rotary valve to scour the oil / air mixture through the engine. Amongst other interesting oddities
