Ripon Light Railway

Want to talk about Sir Arthur Heywood's 15" gauge railways? About modern day minimum gauge lines? Have you found a minimum gauge line you've not seen mentioned on the website? Want directions to one of the railways that is mentioned? Whatever your interest in real minimum gauge lines, post your questions (and answer other modellers' questions) here.

There's an NGRS visit planned for 2016 - all welcome.

We will run everything that runs and get everything out for you to look at - Lister, Hudson, Decauville, Fowler, Howard, Buda and Terry Stanhope home made in 2', 60cm, 50cm, 18", 40cm and 15" with a bit of standard gauge thrown in if you look closely

Hi Adam,

I keep promising myself I'll get there, but haven't made it yet

Do you have a date, or indication thereof, please?

Cheers,

We had a real freight last Friday - the second since we started laying track 25 years ago. The first was a paint pot and a ladder going to the industrial units, this time it was a drain pipe someone had seen from the canal and wanted for their allotment. We could have carried it by hand but it was a nice day and the Lister was running so we had a train instead.

No wonder the Industrial Railway Society get upset - the had us down as a proper industrial site for years until someone told them the truth.....

You expect us to believe that without photographic evidence of said pipe 'on track'

Next thing people will believe me when I say my layout is finished.

The open day will be on Saturday 11th June

All welcome at own risk - location is 10-11 Canal Side, Dallamires Lane, Ripon, HG4 1TT but is EAST of the A61 roundabout and not west. Call 01765 690906 if you get lost.

We are expecting to be busy so we are not offering driver experience until things quieten down, otherwise we will have everything on display or running.

Neill has bought a new battery and charger so with luck the Greenbat should be running as well as the Lister

Fingers crossed for the weather tomorrow.

I may go over to the North Bay Railway first but I'll definitely be with you at some stage.

Cheers,

Hi Ken,

I'll get my photos uploaded to Flickr at some stage, but here's a set taken previously by another photographer:
