Hooah, site is back!

A general talking shop for any subject under the sun (even Monty Python). This would also be a good place to make suggestions about the site itself or about these forums (or "fora", if you're particularly pedantic).

I'd like to add my voice - thank you for all the hard work that has gone into getting the Gnatterbox back up and in its new format. A great job, and much appreciated.

Please let us know how we can contribute to the costs.

great to have it back, many thanks, but I am still getting errors, almost randomly, sometimes refreshing works, then does not, then works again.

What intermittent errors are you getting Simon?

It seems to be working fine for me apart from the photo hosting where I need to change some code to validate the logins with the new forum software.

Yes I seem to have broken email somehow. I had a problem that email from the board where being flagged coming from a non-orginal source and regarded as spam.

I changed a couple of things, which caused a different error, now I fix those and it looks like it is not sending out emails anymore .

At the moment I have little idea why as I'm not getting any errors, but will try a few things.

:D Yay, the Gnatterbox is still going :D

Seriously I was wondering what was happening as all I had seen since the transfer was an error report, but yesterday the site loaded. Odd as the forum was active while I had no access but I'm very happy to see it back - so huge thanks to Tom for taking it on :D :D :D

Interesting that some people are still having problems - I don't understand why this seems to have taken so long for some people.

I've had to temporally abandon my attempts to sort out the My.Gn15.info code as the site I need to check how to write the new code has been hacked and is down ! ( phpbb.com)

The thing about programming and computers is that there is more to it than logic, and a combination of small things can add up to a big problem.

There is something intermittent going on apparently. I lost the site due to 'DNS' errors again today.

Like others, I really do appreciate all the hard work that has gone into 'saving' the forum, and I also appreciate that it's all been done in people's spare time when they could have been earning money, playing trains, having family time, etc. So please don't take this suggestion the wrong way - but I think that the forum really does need a header image so that anyone who happens to chance across it can see what it's all about and to give it a bit of pizazz!

Its on mý list of things to do....

Not sure the old one will work that well as it's now on a blue background. It's also harder to do with the new version - you now have to add an extension to do this.

Thank you Tom. I've not been in for a few weeks, and the last posts I read were about things having to be changed, and uploading all the old posts and stuff. I'm glad it's back, and running. Even if it is 'back to front' (with the postee's picture and name on the right, rather than the left as it used to be) I'll get used to it.... I suppose :D

If you need a donation, please let me know.

1:32 on 16·5mm track. Gnot strictly minimum gauge... but it is the minimum that I'm working with !
And now... a critter in 1/24th... from scratch!

I think I preferred it on the left too!

New software, new **** things to learn - think I'm getting old and grumpy..... Image

Donations always welcome, but I'm not desperate, well no more desperate than I usually am.

I've put in a bodged temporary fix for the my.Gn15.info logon problem - simply restored a copy of the original user file from the old forum and pointed it at that. It should work, but note any password changes here will not be reflected there and there is no way for me or you to reset the password - so if you forget it you are sunk
