Carl Arendt site September update

A general talking shop for any subject under the sun (even Monty Python). This would also be a good place to make suggestions about the site itself or about these forums (or "fora", if you're particularly pedantic).

The carl arendt site was a fantastic site when he was managed by Carl. Now this site is a hollow site with 2 updates per year maximum. When you write to the manager of the site you get no answer.

If I may say so I think you are being a bit unfair. Carl, bless him, had retired and was therefore able to spend a considerable amount of time and effort (and it showed, wonderfully) on his site.

Gert, who has taken it over, is a young man with a job and family. Much as I would like more updates I'm simply glad that it's still there, along with all of Carl's work, for us all to enjoy.

Cheers,

as an archive, it is priceless. I always thought Carl shared the whimsy of Ward Kimball.

now, I would side with "hollow". the site has the mechanics of updates, but no "soul". maybe no "character" is a better word. not to disparage the efforts of keeping it on life support, because I think it would be a lost resource if it did not exist.

but it could use attention. there are so many talented modelers in the world, it would be phenomenal if someone could wrest the reins away and breath some new life into it.

and to be solicited to pay .... ha!

post script: after receiving the fourth email in as many days to contribute to our patreon fund, I've canceled my subscription to the site & updates. enough is enough.

Is the site working for others or is it just me? I click on the links to an update but they go nowhere

They're working fine for me using Safari on a Mac.

Cheers,
