A general talking shop for any subject under the sun (even Monty Python). This would also be a good place to make suggestions about the site itself or about these forums (or "fora", if you're particularly pedantic).

I'm back in the big city

Postby michael » Mon Nov 13, 2017 9:24 pm

Well after a great job by Tom after some issues with not being able to log in to my account I am now reinstated.
Judy and I spent 9 years plus in the country by the lake, as nice as it was the long distance driving for anything food supplies you name it, we finally decided to move back to Edmonton.

My model of Macton has not fared well although it is salvageable, and I have begun the task of seeing what I can reuse in a couple of slightly smaller boards.

the first task was to remove all the warped and damaged card and paper.

Next the track was lifted

One possibility

and the foreground section needed to get a new trim I had some 1/4 inch pine

This is the first time that I have had to revisit the Macton locomotive works, and I think that I will start a Macton II in modelling matters. rather than add to the old Macton, which I did enjoy building, last night I went through the whole log to refresh my memory of how it had evolved.

Regards Michael
