Where I come clean and explain what I've done (moving posts around and the like).

Bandwidth exceeded

Postby tebee » Wed May 31, 2017 8:29 pm

Just to say I'm getting messages from our hosting company that we have exceeded our bandwidth allocation. I've no idea why as we normally only use about 5% of it.

I can't access my tools to check what is using the bandwidth as they are on the server and it won't let me use them because I've already used too much bandwidth.....

It may all start working again tomorrow when we get a new month - but if you find problems accessing the forum this is probably why - indeed I'm not entirely sure why the forum is still working when other things on the server including my management tools are not.

I'm chasing it it up with their tech support .

It looks like one of my old test forums ( not this one - it's on different url, but still on the same server ) may have been taken over by hackers and used for nefarious things.

I'm going to try deleting it entirely, but it's possible my hosting account may be suspended - I hope only temporarily. This will also affect this forum.

will try my best to get it all sorted out and back as soon as possible.

Tom, your efforts are much appreciated. I'm afraid the delights of running a website are all a mystery to me!

Thanks
