CHANGING HOSTS

Postby Emrys » Wed Aug 22, 2007 8:47 am

Sorry for what will hopefully be a brief interruption to service. Gn15.info is switching hosting today.

If it's not back online later today ... then I'll be tearing what remains of my hair out too!

BETA TESTERS NEEDED

Postby Emrys » Wed Aug 22, 2007 6:17 pm

If you're reading this, that's a good start.

Gn15.info has now been moved to a nice, friendly hosting company and everything should now run smoother than it has been.

I'm going to run a thread for a couple of week for reporting any little oddities. Please share anything you notice that isn't working quite as you'd expected.

I was getting "phpBB : Critical Error" for a couple of hours (and no forum), but as I am posting this, you can take it that I can now access the forum :D

That's a relief

Your ISP clearly had the new DNS propogated quicker than mine, Barry.

I had to wait for the new host's version to be in my browser before I could switch the 'Box back on. Sorry for any delay but things really should run a lot smoother from now on.

I'm on BT for what it's worth. Was having problems accessing certain other areas of the fantastic interweb at the same time, so I thought it was something to do with the BT servers. Hope things work out with the Gnew hosts, I was getting withdrawal symptoms!

Withdrawal symptoms? It wasn't down for that long - less than 12 hours! :-)

It is amazing how much you miss something when it's not there :) .
It's good to be back and everything seems to be working as it should, from what I can see. Well done Emrys.

Good to see we are back again. :D

Bad day yesterday with no Gn15 fix in the morning (or all day for that matter) :(

I wish we'd changed hosts earlier.

The Forum is no longer blocked at work :D :D :D

But the pictures don't come through.

That's odd but then the pictures, of course, don't come from the Gnatterbox anyway but from whatever photo host the poster's chosen.
