a nice Model!
For those who are interested in building a working one in a large scale, here is the website where one can order a working Slewing ring.https://www.cti-modellbau.de/-74-102-11 ... anguage=de
Not cheap, it goes for EU 98,00
But from what I have read, one of the best on the market.
One thing about the BUCYRUS, it has a mechanical crowd which makes it very hard to build in any scale. A model with a Cable crowd would be a better approach. Something like the old O&K machines or the NOBAS UB 80. This way the crowd function is controlled by the Hoist and Crowd Winch in the machine allowing a realistic operation.Plus the Bucket lid is not of the swing type that requires a spring loaded latch system to close, the affore mentioned machines have a Weight controlled bucket lid, much easier to build!
As to the Rigging Diagram , GREY- Boom Cable, RED - Hoist and FORWARD Crowd Cable, BLUE - Back haul Crowd Cable, YELLOW- Bucked Lid control.
I attached a Picture of the O&K machine (red) and the UB 80 (orange) as well as one of the KRUPP ARDELT one (blue) this is the easiest to build. There is NO crowd action. The crowd action is created by raising and lowering the main boom. The digging arm is of fixed length. BUT one need to remember that the attachment- swing point of the digging arm is NOT in the center of the boom but slightly off center
Have a great day
