Smallbrook Katie on ebay

Postby NotHarryPotter » Fri Jan 02, 2015 11:50 am

Hi folks,
just noticed a poorly described (and therefore quite invisible) Smallbrook Katie with chassis on Ebay UK. No bids yet, starting at £49.00. Postage too much to Australia. Loco appears to be painted a little roughly, might benefit from stripping and a repaint.
See:

The same seller has some intriguing hand-built models, also badly described, which could be O-16.5 bu look larger. The Fiji Hudswell Clarke loco (freelance???) seems to be quite nice

Good luck spending your Christmas money. Go for these if you want, as I say, postage kills it for me to Australia :x

cheers

Thanks for the heads up - might be tempted :D

UK postage isn't a lot better as it's Special Delivery at £8.50

Not the first time that these Locos have been listed.
Strange that he lists on the Aussie eBay and not UK?
His postage to UK is also OTT as recorded is an adequate internal method.
Not surprised that they don't sell.
So little time, so many ideas!!!!! GerryB.

I put the item number in UK ebay and it came up OK, and its now on my save list. If I was interested I could always pick it up as its only in Morecombe. Having said that, some dealers don't like that. I have had some who were selling for friends/family and did not actually have it with them, but it could still be posted. Talking of which, the delivery rate is for 'express' and normal 1st class would be cheaper but probably not insured properly. It should also be remembered that eBay now take a commission on postage as well, to stop all those low cost items with very high postage. I work on the principal that if the overall price is acceptable it doesn't matter to me.
