Hornby cheapies

Postby fatmac » Sun Mar 22, 2015 7:45 pm

Just a quick heads up for some new stock at low prices, take a look, I've bought 3x Class 06 diesels for possible conversions. 8)

I spotted them yesterday and ordered a couple of the 0-4-0 steam locos to power some Smallbrook kits.

Offer is only until 9am tomorrow though so you need to be quick!

I think there is quite a lot of discount offers for Hornby products at the moment. First time I have seen the small locos on offer though. Suggests to me there is a lot of unsold stock in warehouse, although it could be part of Hornby's office/warehouse move.

sure to be something similar again. As I said I think Hornby are having to clear out a lot of old stock. I noticed Kernow shop had a very good deal on some Hornby EMUs , which I have now ordered. There was something similar last year. Warehouse space costs money, and all companies periodically clear out everything that has been static for too long. Shops like Home Bargain go round to businesses to look for this type of stock, which is what happened when Bachmann cleared out their Underground Ernie stock a few years ago.

I only happened on it by chance - is there any way of knowing when something like this is going to happen?

I suppose online forums are the best source of info. Hornby talk about a blog or something so maybe they will put info out there. Maybe they ill also send out emails. I am on Gaugemaster list so get regular updates from them. I only found out about the Kernow special offers from a friend at the weekend.
