Can anyone tell me if Pepper 7 products are available at the present time. I am trying to order my first kits from him (I am a new Gn15 modeller), but the on-line checkout doesn't work and he hasn't replied to my emails or phone messages.

Grum,
I have sent a personal message related to this topic. I purchased and received quite a lot of Gn15 from Steve earlier this year. :D
These are beautiful kits, persist is my best advice, it is well worth it. :D

Smallbrook studios also have a few kits suitable for Estate railways, and some wonderful Roland Emmett inspired Gn15

A post on another forum indicated that paypal couldn't contact Steve and refunded the money that had been sent. This was just yesterday I think.

Thanks. Pepper 7 seems to be a very strange shop... :?
Anyway, I solved the problem. I'll build my own wagons and critter.

This whole situation is a shame since Steve Bennett was the driving force for many years behind this BB and GN15 in general.
I do feel for him.

I too had wanted to order from Steve. Website cart doesn't work and no response via email.

I know there is a phone number but I'd rather not pester him. I hope if he's unwell he recovers soon.

Perhaps best to drop him an email in a few months.

I know from conversations in the past with our late great Gerry B that Steve rarely answers the phone during 'office' hours as, like many of us, he gets a bunch of spam calls. Equally I believe his parents do not enjoy the best of health and thus he may be looking after them and letting his business come second as a result.

Bestest,

Hi All, I was the first to ask about Steve way back in 2014, had loads of posts and feedback on his health, it seems that he had recovered and back in business, been on his website yesterday and ordered some items from him and also managed to pay by Paypal, having read the latest postings it appears that he is either ill again or is looking after his parents, I do hope all is well and his business is still functioning, if not can anyone offer any more information on Steve ? regards woody 1 32

I have a small outstanding order with Steve as well. He is a one man shop, so I am giving him some slack.

Another resource is Shapeways, Tebee have a nice offerings of kits available. There are also a few things in 1/24 section of Shapeways that can be used. I just order a 1/43 version of the Simplex 'Turtle', which will be powered by a Bachmann On30 Streetcar motor block.

There are also other variations of the Simplex that can be used in Gn15.

Just an update from me, I still hope that Steve and his Parents are OK, however I have now had to contact Pay Pal to resolve my order from him which I placed and paid for in September this year ,having tried to contact Steve with out success Pay Pal have now refunded my money, I wondered if any one else is still having the same problem as the Pepper 7 web site still appears to be operational, apart from the message about some payment problems. If Steve can not full fill orders at the moment shoud'nt he temporally close his site until things improve with his situation.

Hi all,

I tried to order from Steves' site earlier this week, and noting the comment about checkout problems, was not surprised when payment via Paypal failed. After a few tries over a couple of days, I sent a message via his Contact us on the site, and he e-mailed back this morning. He's been having computer problems but will send me a Paypal request to my e-mail so I can place my order. I hope this helps anyone else who's been having problems,

Dave

That is good news that Steve may be back in business. The quality and design of his models is very fine indeed.

Good News

I saw and had a brief chat with Steve Bennett at Shepton Mallet yesterday.

Steve hoped after have a really bad time last year that the tide had turned and things would get more to normal.

I've tried contacting Steve through the website and by 'phone in the last week and haven't had any luck. Does anyone know what his current situation is?
