A section for our lovely Gn15 manufacturers to plug their latest releases and for the rest of us to post our wish lists. Don't be shy.

Source of slate chippings

Postby Voyager » Fri Apr 28, 2017 10:19 pm

For those who model with a North Wales theme (acknowledging, of course, that slate was/is also quarried in Pembrokeshire and the Lake District), I noticed today that bags containing as many slate chippings as you will probably ever need (unless, perhaps, you are contemplating a 1:24 diorama of the entirety of Blaenau Ffestiniog and the surrounding district) are currently available in the gardening section of that well known UK high street emporium where the price of (almost) everything in store is in the name!
Regards to all,

Voyager

try a reclamation yard or a demolition site for a slate or two.

I hoped that this thread would fit a little better in Trade tittle-tattle being about sourcing stuff rather than a modelling project.

Cheers,
