Your coach and my Tom Yorke one I can actually make a passenger train! Looking forward to it.

QUESTION: Would everyone like to keep the buffers that are moulded into the chassis or is it ok to remove them?

Thanks

That is lovely :)

I'd prefer the chassis with no buffers if possible.

Agreed. There's really no way they would work properly either.

Cheers.

Here's the latest incarnation. I'll have to stop now as there are no lights in the shed. A giant laser cutter, but no lights. LOL

I'm very pleased that the sash for the drop down window in the door came out so cleanly, even though it is only .050" across. I also changed the end, as I felt having only 4 recessed sections looked "wrong"; 5 is much better.

The final kit will be produced using different thickness materials so as to hide all of the corner notching. This was done with what I had to hand.

Will the chassis come with the kit? I don't know what a "Clarabel" is?
Colonist don't you know!
otherDoc

OK got it! It is an HO passenger car from the Thomas series. Probably difficult to source in the US. Are there any alternatives?

Not difficult at all. I believe they are still freely available on Ebay and perhaps even retail. That is where I found mine, and I am currently a "colonist" as well. (Shhh...)

Latest update: Assembled inner box structure in situ on chassis. I need to trim off those pesky buffers!

The Peco on30 chassis is also readily available. I have one for the Tom York resin car. Dapols can also be had, but from Britain.

Do you mean this one?

I'll have to look into that, as I did not know it even existed!

Thanks for pointing it out.

This is wonderful as there are few to none similar models. Yes the Peco is correct. It has a shorter wheelbase compared to Clarabel, but cheaper by far.

How about some dimensions of the box. How many passenger will it hold?
2 compartements should be enough room for 8 seated passengers.

Two in each compartement will have no window to look out.

Coach is approx. 8' 6" by 42" wide. I am still working out the kinks for the interior arrangement. I can easily add additional windows, so no worries.

That scales out to approx. 108 by 48 mm for the model.
Figures sitting oppsite need approx 70 mm, so the coach is too short
for 2 populated compartement.

Since I am using an existing chassis, I am somewhat constrained in altering the design. I figured on 2 seated with their luggage.

What sort of postage cost is going to be on these kits to UK/Europe?

I apologise for the excessive shipping costs calculated by the Shopify store for my UK and EU customers. Please message me directly, and I will send a PayPal invoice which will utilise a much cheaper shipping option.

Thank you for your patience!
