Meeting - 11th November - Remembrance Day

Postby Dave Westall » Fri Oct 16, 2009 8:13 pm

The nights are drawing in fast and by the time of this meeting the clocks will have gone back - so more modelling time :!:

So another opportunity for you to display your latest 'piece de resistance' to the gathered masses at the usual time and usual place.(I might even bring something myself. )

Thanks in advance to Ralph and Janet for extending their hospitality once again.

Dave

At the next meeting bring your ideas on how the lighting should go on Smithies Yard. I want to get some atmosphere added to the boards so that it does not need top lighting.

I expect to use 3mm and 5mm LED's but I am open to suggestions as to what will create the best effect. I fancy some gas lights and I think brass etching would be the answer to making these . This is a wild idea at the moment

I can't think of any reason why I won't be there but I doubt I'll have any new projects to show off given that I've really got to start focussing on uni for the next few weeks. Although I may have repaired the track on Dunwold Manor by then.

Nick

How about " the atmospheric lighting of a Gn15 latout" as a Uni project :?:
I am sure it would be very meaningful
When checking the list of PhD subjects so mine did not duplicate, I came an American one called "Six ways to cook a Maryland Ham," Thats the way to become a PhD

Not quite complex enough really Ralph, anyway I've already officially declared that I'm building a guitar amplifier.

Although I will be happy to help with any lighting stuff you need.

Good luck with the project Nick. We will have a meeting round Smithies
Yard at the next meeting.

Went to Peterborough to day, saw Dave there. Good show with lots of trade stands. Spent a lot of pocket money on bits and bobs and saw some good layouts.
Good luck at Uni.

Ralph

Thanks to Janet and Ralph for their hospitality.
It was good to meet up again, gnatter, show off models and purchases, plan and exchange info.
Hope you feel better soon Dave.

My thanks also to Janet and Ralph for their hospitality, was good to see Ralph's Gnew locos up close.

Thanks also to Dave for deciding not to share whatever it is he's managed to catch with the rest of us
