Springfield Agricultural Railway Wickham loco

Want to talk about Sir Arthur Heywood's 15" gauge railways? About modern day minimum gauge lines? Have you found a minimum gauge line you've not seen mentioned on the website? Want directions to one of the railways that is mentioned? Whatever your interest in real minimum gauge lines, post your questions (and answer other modellers' questions) here.

Springfield Agricultural Railway Wickham loco

Postby Igor » Fri Apr 05, 2013 6:07 pm

Does anyone gnow anything about this loco ( http://www.ingr.co.uk/images/SAR_news086.JPG ) ? There is some more information at http://www.ingr.co.uk/sar_update.html It was apparently converted from a Wickham target trolley. All it says there is that it was bought as part of a collection of items which included a Motor Rail loco, however the only item needed for SAR was the Motor Rail, so the Wickham was sold on. I would mainly like to know where it went to. This loco is not listed on the INGRS page because it only stayed briefly, unlike some other locos at Springfield which stayed quite a long time and did work but were then sold on.

Most recent Industrial Railway Society Handbook update circulated to members suggests that it has gone to a private individual in Wiltshire.
