New to G9

Postby LMGR » Sat Nov 04, 2017 8:00 pm

A first ever visit to ExpoNG 2017 at Swanley and I ended up buying a loco kit from Black Dog Mining!
So, my first attempt at anything narrow gauge since the last century.....

The plan is a micro layout based on some sort of market garden location, but it is still vague yet.

Hi Brian,

Welcome to the Gnatterbox. Although it’s Gn15 Chris Krupa’s ‘Matthews Corner’ is well worth a look. Alas the great P Bucket hosting disaster has hit the pics in here, but the thread remains, go to

http://forum.gn15.info/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9458

Althought the write up is in French there are four pics here; amazing what can be done with just one point...

Was Steve Bennett actually selling G9 stuff at the show?

Thanks for the links Chris.
"Matthews Corner" is similar to what I am thinking about, though I'll probably make it a continuous run,
if only to be able to change stock around.

Doc, yes he was selling stuff at the show.
I just kept it til too late in the day to pick up much as I didn't really know quite what scale I wanted to model (if at all!).

Well if Steve is back in business, he is a great source of G9 and G15 stuff. I have been buying Chris Cardinal's wonderful laser cut cars these days, but I would also get Steve's kits if they were available. Both are affordable and excellent.
The usual disclaimer: I don't own stock in either company.
