The Story of the Scamp

Postby RoGNer » Tue Sep 15, 2020 1:19 pm

The latest Narrow Gauge News has just arrived on my desk at work & the Reviews page mentions a rather nice sounding book by Colin Edmondson priced at £5.95 - "The Story of the Scamp" no less! 42 pages and over 100 photo's.

Apparently, that Stockers chap features in it..

I shall be ordering a copy in a few moments time!

All the best
Roger

Guilty as charged.

Yours truly is proud to be owner of Scamp number two. More importantly I like to think of myself as the chap who pushed, encouraged and cajoled Colin Edmondson, the designer, to create said beastie after we had both been to visit Goliath, a similarly tiny creation at Peco’s Beer Heights Light Railway.

Here’s Goliath, powered by a Suffolk Punch engine.

And, after the horror of seeing a Stockers...

... here are Scamps 4 and 2.

Note, we have all but reached Scamp no. 100 in just five years.

A great little book. Well worth the read.
