Hi Martin
Yes - I'm making a long weekend of it and have the caravan booked on a CL near Ironbridge from Sat until Tuesday - I've always wanted to have a look at Ironbridge and the associated attractions, so the Telford show has given me the reason to do it  Are any other Gnotters going :?:

I hope to be there. Haven't decided whether to go on the bike or in the car as yet :)

Shouldn't be too bad if set off early enough :) Straight down the A38 and then pick up the A6 to Telford. About 80 odd miles all in. Mind you, setting off early enough is always a problem

Should be a good run on the bike tomorrow.. Sunday morning, nice weather..

I'm going to go Derby/Uttoxeter/Stafford/Telford..

Gnice to see you again chaps - hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekends too... itching to get modelling?
I hope nobody thought that my post was a hint to try and cadge a lift by the way.. I realised that it may have looked that way.

Got stuck behind a horsebox for a few miles on the return journey so I didn't stop at Amerton (it looked quite busy too)

Just been down to the model shop in Mansfield to get some track pins and some HO track to rip apart and it was shut - barred up with big posters declaring 'Half Price sale on everything' I wonder if he's finally giving it up? :(

Bad news if he is, next nearest to my knowledge is Daybrook.

Is that the shop that moved recently? One one of my rare trips into Mansfield I thought it was shut until I realised it had moved. Always an odd shop though, always seemed very quiet!

He did move up from Bridge Street last year, was hoping that he might get a bit more passing trade. He's been threatening to jack it in for a couple of years.. once he stopped selling GW stuff, he lost a lot of punters (and shoplifters). He'd been cutting down on railway stuff as it wasn't selling.
It's a shame if it has shut - I've never been able to buy a lot from there (no NG) and in fairness you can usually get the RTR stuff a lot cheaper from Rails and Hattons, but I've always tried to get the odd bits and bobs from there.
I need some Peco track pins and I'm going to have to wait until I go to Nottingham now.
Yep - it was usually very quiet. Pleasant enough chap but hard to draw into conversation sometimes.

I suppose I don't realise how lucky I am having a fairly well stocked shop (Geoffrey Allison's) with RTR and Peco etc just over the road from the office. I don't tend to go in there much at the moment, same problem as you Martin, they don't sell anything NG! But useful for trackpins and odds and ends.

I tend to go to TAG in Doncaster if we are that way out, or perhaps Marcway and MG Sharp if we make the effort (usually wrapped up in a cunning plan to make Kerry think it was her idea to go to the nearby Hobbycraft.... )
